Project Description
ICON Technologies provided a 2D laser profiling system as a component of an instrument pod to monitor conditions in underground or enclosed situations where direct operator access was limited or potentially unsafe, such as disused wells, shafts, and similar.
The system acquires and decodes the serial packet stream from a Sick LMS Series scanning laser to provide a real-time 2D display of the surrounding morphology within a 30 m, 180-degree arc from the pod source.
