Project Description: ICON Technologies is providing Pearlstreet/Metlabs with a robust condition monitoring system to detect and log transient motion, vibration, and strain conditions that may be a prelude to catastrophic plant failure.
The system is based on National Instruments CompactRIO PAC platform, for reliable performance under harsh conditions, including repeated unscheduled loss of power to the logger unit.
The logger continuously monitors 12 channels of mixed I/O at up to 2K samples/s/channel. Logging is initiated by receipt of an external digital trigger, or movement of the signal level on any channel outside an upper or lower threshold. The amount of pre- and post-trigger data stored in each event log is user-configurable.
The logger includes 2 GB of local Flash storage for recording of multiple events, where each event log may be up to 50 MB in size, and contain up to 20 mins of pre- and post-trigger data.
